Today's Focus
God Is Holy, and Calls Us to Reflect It
Start Here
Tell me about a time you copied someone so well that people said you were just like them.
Reading — 1 Peter 1:15–16
Read it aloud once, slowly, then stay quiet for a moment before anyone responds.
But just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do, for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”
Discussion
Littles
Copy me for a few seconds — every move. God says, ‘Be holy, because I am holy’ — so what’s one way we could be like Him this week?
Keep it physical and silly, then land it: holy means looking more like God. If they’re stuck, hand them a start — God tells the truth, so we can; He’s kind, so we can be.
Middles
God is the one who makes us holy — we don’t have any holiness of our own. Why does it matter where that holiness comes from?
Have them put ‘be holy in all you do’ in their own words first. Then reason it out together — if the holiness is God’s, not something they earn, what does that take off their shoulders? No single right answer; you’re after the thinking.
Teens
‘Be holy in all you do’ covers the parts of your day nobody sees. Where is that hardest for you right now?
Don’t let ‘nowhere’ stand. Point them to the gap between who they are around church people and who they are alone or online — then ask what being set apart would actually change there.
Walk It Out
Right now, go around the group — each person names one time they saw the person on their right do something that looked like God. Say it to their face. You’re catching His holiness showing up in each other.
